    Several UW campuses and technical colleges in our region, employers have access to an available, capable working population that embraces a strong work ethic. Emerging technologies are pioneered and applied in our region. Educational partners provide collaborative research, learning programs and services to facilitate the development and adoption of sustainable technologies and practices. The Heart of Wisconsin area is home to outstanding educational and training facilities that offer area employers access to some of the state's finest graduates. Our public and private K-12 schools prepare students to enter the workforce or one of the area's colleges or universities. Businesses can utilize customized training options and state and regional workforce development programs.

    Workforce Training Education Providers:

    Mid-State Technical College is a leading provider of higher education offering more than 50 career opportunities through associate degrees, technical diplomas, and certificates. Student-focused and community-based, Mid-State serves a resident population of approximately 165,000 in central Wisconsin. The college has campuses in Marshfield, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids, and a learning center in Adams.

    Lakeland University offers nine undergraduate majors with unmatched flexibility in formats that are convenient for you. Undergraduate courses typically meet once per week during the evening hours or on Saturdays over 12-week and 7-week terms in fall, spring, and summer.

    University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point With roots in the Heart of Wisconsin area, the state's right-sized university launches students on meaningful life journeys through transformational learning in arts and sciences.

    University of Wisconsin Wood The wooded, 114-acre campus is located in a quiet, residential area. The campus is just west of downtown Marshfield – a community named one of the nation's best small cities. Marshfield is also home to Marshfield Clinic – one of the largest clinics in the U.S. - as well as the Marshfield Medical Research Foundation, National Farm Medicine Center and Ministry-Saint Joseph's Hospital.

    University of Wisconsin-Wood County Extension The University of Wisconsin-Wood County Extension Wisconsin Learning Center commits to: teach, learn, lead and serve, connecting people with the University of Wisconsin, and engaging with them in transforming lives and communities.

    Lakeland University Wisconsin Learning Center serves the central Wisconsin region. Courses are conveniently located at Mid-State Technical College's Wisconsin Rapids and Marshfield campuses, which comfortably accommodate many students with different educational goals, from earning their undergraduate degree to forwarding their professional careers.

    Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership Finding ways to help manufacturers grow! The Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP) assists manufacturers in Wisconsin to improve productivity, profitability, and competitiveness. Staffed by business and manufacturing experts, WMEP is affiliated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Manufacturing Extension Partnership and is supported by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, Wisconsin Technical College System, and the University of Wisconsin.
